Our Administrator

Central Darling Shire Council is currently under Administration.

Mr Robert (Bob) Stewart was appointed as Administrator on 25 January 2019 by the NSW Minister for Local Government.

The Administrator performs all the functions of an elected Council and is supported by the General Manager and two Directors. Mr Stewart has more than 40 years’ local government experience.

Mr Stewart welcomes the opportunity to meet with residents, and bookings for meetings, including phone meetings, can be made through Council on 08 8083 8900.

The Administrator holds meetings with residents immediately following Council’s Ordinary Meetings. Bookings are essential and can be made by phoning the Executive Assistant on 08 8083 8900 during business hours. Residents outside Wilcannia can book a phone meeting with the Administrator.

Mr Stewart is a former senior local government manager who has practiced in the regional NSW councils of Singleton, Quirindi, Griffith, Cabonne and Liverpool Plains.

He was General Manager at Tumut Shire from 2008 and was appointed Interim General Manager of the new Snowy Valleys Council following amalgamation.

On his retirement Mr Stewart commenced a consultancy practice and has acted as Interim General Manager at Balranald and Lachlan Shire Councils.

In January 2019 he was appointed administrator at Central Darling Shire.
