It is expected that the Transgrid transmission line will be reinstated tonight, Thursday 31 October. This means Communities outside of Broken Hill will experience a planned outage overnight, at some point after 10pm, for up to 3 hours while Essential Energy reconnects the Pinnacles Place Zone Substation to the main grid.

Communities have been dealing with power outages for about two weeks following a severe storm which damaged high voltage powerlines.

Applications for the Disaster Recovery Allowance are now open. The allowance provides up to 13 weeks of income support for workers and sole traders who have experienced loss of income as a result of recent severe storms in the Broken Hill and Central Darling Local Government Areas, as well as the Far West Unincorporated Area. People are encouraged to seek information regarding eligibility and how to claim on the Services Australia website.
