As part of the Urban and Rural Addressing project the proposed road names that are acceptable to the Geographic Names Board are now on exhibition for public consultation. The Geographical Names Board requires the Council to exhibit these proposed names and publish a notice about the proposed names. The NSW Place and Road Naming Proposal System generates notification to the relevant parties when the road name is approved and again when the road name is gazetted. Council is required to publish a notice of the road name and include this on its website when it is proposed and again when it is gazetted. After the mandatory 15 business days for the relevant parties to make a submission, if no submissions have been received, it is considered that all relevant parties concur with the proposed names. Council can then gazette or formalise the road names. Due to the Christmas and New Year Holiday period the exhibition time has been extended beyond the usual 28 days.
Submissions must be received by 4pm On Friday 31 January 2025
